THE MOVE FROM CUMBRIA
We moved down from the Lake District in South Cumbria in the late Autumn 2020. We had been looking for the perfect place to start our retirement livery yard for a long time and finally found it at Portsands Farm. The added bonus for us is that on average it is 4 degrees warmer and has half the rainfall !!!

NOAH'S ARK!!
The move was more complicated than expected. The first job was clearing 30 years of essentials from the loft!! Then we had to arrange transportation of machinery, a shipping container full of tack etc, trailers, furniture, dogs and horses.

PROGRESS!!
We are slowly inching forwards towards our intended opening date of the end of March. There is work to do in practically every direction you look but things are starting to come together and we are seeing glimpses of what we are aiming for! The photo is the "before" of the middle barn with my lovely old lady Chilli inspecting the works. The middle barn is a beautiful brick built barn that used to have an enormous tack room, five tiny block stables and a hay store. We have stripped out all the internals, poured a new concrete floor and six gorgeous new stables will be fitted very soon! It is a lovely space and we are very much looking forward to welcoming the horses who will call this peaceful place home!
